Pots and Vases
The simple and ordinary object is a subject ripe for reinvention and the unassuming plant pot provides fertile ground for new interpretations.
The basic form is of the aluminium sand-cast design is derived from the form of a classical Roman urn but intrigue and additional function is added by allowing the base and pot to separate and be sold separately. This allows the product to function without a base as a hanging planter only or simply spiked into the ground.
Various combinations were explored in cast aluminium and ceramics for drainage bases and pots. The planters and vases were developed in collaboration with artisan groups in Mexico.
